The squad included,
- Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain),
- Virender Sehwag (vice captain),

- Gautam Gambhir,
- Suresh Raina,
- Yuvraj Singh,
- Yusuf Pathan,
- Rohit Sharma,
- Harbhajan Singh,
- Zaheer Khan,
- Ishant Sharma,
- Praveen Kumar,
- R P Singh,

However, a few names from the 2007 World Cup winning squad missed the bus to England. These include Ajit Agarkar, Piyush Chawla, hard- hitting batsman Robin Uthappa, S Sreesanth, fighting fitness problems and Joginder Sharma, who hasn’t come up with anything exceptional so far in the IPL.
