Advice on CNG conversion kits in India

I have recently installed a CNG conversion kit in my car and now it can run on petrol and gas both. Finally after a lot of research online and offline i have made this decision and it really makes me happy for two reasons:

  • It’s going to save me a lot of money as they say money saved is money earned
  • I am going to contribute in a small way by not polluting the environment hence helping reduce global warming ;-)

I am writing this article for people to get accurate information and not spend time searching the internet just as i did. As there are not many source of authentic information for CNG or LPG conversion kits in India.

Overview of gas conversion kits in India

There are quite a few gas conversion kits available in the market most of these kits are either imported from Italy and Argentina and rest are made locally here in India.  Install only government approved CNG kits in your car. As when your car will be sent for RTO registration they will verify the status of the CNG kit manufacturer. There are two types of kits one with sequential system and other is lambad system.

The list of government and RTO approved CNG kit can be found here:

Process of converting petrol car to gas is simple

  • Identify the right kit for your car
  • Make the most important decision to get it converted by authorized dealers or our trusted mechanics
  • RTO registration of CNG kit
  • Periodical checks on fine tuning the system

For better performance

  • Now a days all CNG kits automatically start the car on petrol and then immediately switches to gas
  • For better performance of your engine start on petrol and drive for 2 kms before switching to CNG, as gas is dry and does not provide any lubrication to the engine so when you drive on petrol first it will lubricate the engines

For installation of government approved CNG kits you should only trust government approved vendors. I have got my kit installed in maruti swift dezire from sai service which is an authorized maruti service centre

Pricing for installation of CNG kit in Mumbai is Rs 32000 from road side genuine vendors and Rs 42000 with authorized and reputed vendors.  If your car is under warranty then I suggest

hi Mr. amit,

thanks for the detail information. Please let me know when you have fixed this? – number of days or months.

I am having the desire & i am looking to do this.

how is the performance of car after fitting CNG?

my car 1.5year old. Please confirm which you suggest the most suitable the road side or sai service as sai serivce is asking for 44000.00 & road side is Rs. 30000.00

Hello Vishal,

its been a month now and already 1000 Kms done.

Amit

Hi amit,

thanks for your reply. which you suggest the road side fitting or Sai serivce?

also how is the pick up? how is the performance of the car after CNG any idea what mileage you got?

Reagrds,

Vishal

Hello Vishal,

If you car is under company warranty then you should go for Sai Service only. Also other wise i would suggest sai service as this thing is going to modify your core engine and there should be someone who can take complete responsibility. if your car is not under warranty and you personally know the road side guy then he would be a good option if not then please dont risk road side fitting for few thousand rupees.

Regards

Amit

Hello Mr. Amit

which CNG kit do you suggest for toyota corolla? mine is 2004 automatic.

also ..there is surely a difference in the pick up … first is the dry weight of the cylinder is 70kgs so the pick will drop to an extent that when you car is seating 5 people and the difference u feel then as compared to you driving alone ..that is the kind of differnece in pick up

it working well in dezire

Hello Nishant,

any kit is fine. as i commented for vishal that if the car is under warranty then you should check with your autorized dealer for what kindda kits they sell.

Main thing you need to check if i suggest you go for ay kit which has sequential technology. as higher end cars like urs requires a lot of power and if you put normal lambad technology kit then it wil drag your car and affect its engine.

also these sequential kits are expensive as compared to normal ones they are roughly Rs 60,000 a friend of mine has installed BRC its working fine and does not performance issues

I hope this helps

Amit

Hi Amit

this info was very encouraging for people like me who are contemplating on going for a CNG. I drive a Swift (2006 October model) but my earlier running was very less. Nowadays for last 2 years i am running my car for about 1100 KMs in a month and total runing is around 26000 KMs. I plan to keep this car for at least 3 more years. I have taken 2 years AMC from Sai Service (lasts till 2013 May). What would you advise? Should I still go for CNG..also I heard it takes up the whole boot space…just need a word of advise

For lambad system as it is cheaper, which cars are most suitable for them without creating any problem in performance issues?

want to instal CNG kit in my swift Dzire ,
kindly advise me .

I would suggest you get it installed from a road side vendor if your car is out of warranty or else go to authorized place like sai service and get it installed. right now my car which is a swift dezire is giving me a average of 15 in the city with Ac and on highway (national highway) its giving me 19 with Ac

hope it helps, do let me know if you want to know anything specific.

Hey Abhijeet,

If you are going to use the car for another 3 years then i am sure you should go for CNG. and get it installed from sai service, infact initially my cng kit had a problem in diaphragm they replaced the complete kit without trying to repair it .. thats the advantage when you get it done via sai service and in you case since its under extended warranty then you should get it done via sai service only. you cost will recover in 6 months.

I have experience with Tomasetto Achille and there are no problems with it. Only an expert fitment center is able to create a difference by his skill. CNG kit brand is only incidental to the performance of your car. For a review of Tomasetto you can contact Dashmesh CNG Impex Pvt. Ltd. who is an importer of Tomasetto

For a fiat punto petrol which cng kit is advised the high-tech sequential injection CNG kit or open loop or closed loop .pls advise alongwith approx prices

I heard Romano /Italy are providing best cng kits., anyone have any ideas or inputs regarding same' it is costing around 31000

Yeah tomasetto is surely a good brand and is working well in India as well

Punit i am sorry but i have no idea on whats works best with Punto sequential injection kits are used in high end cars what i am sure off

Mrinal .. they are all govt registered … just fix it form an anothorized person thats it

Mrinal .. also almost all kids come in the same range as well

Hello Amit, nice information. Do you have any idea about i-10 fitted with CNG ? or is it suitable ?does Hyundai does it?

Hello Nikhil,

Yes fittings are done in i-10 as well and its working well hyundai does not install it but officials like shreenath hyundai will do it for you.

hope it helps, let me know if you need any specific information

Amit

Thanks Amit for immidiate response. I had enquired, i got information about Lavato kit. I also heard that they fit Power booster which removes the pick problem on CNG at extra cost of 1500/-.
Now doing servey on CNG converstion and saw this site which seems to be usefull. I will let you know if any more information needed. Thanks again.

lovato is also very good. but tell him not to charge extra Rs 1500 as he is supposed to install it by default. and it will not solve the pick up problem its used just to get to normal pace..the difference will surely be there. the difference is not there in sequential kits with power injectors that cost around 70-80k which is not worth for small cars

Hi Amit,
Very interesting discussion, i have a swift VXI 2010 March Model and have travelled some 14k kms till date. Is it appropriate to opt for CNG at this early stage. Yeah i am facing a cost constraint as i have to travel atleast 60-100 kms / day.

Dont even wait for a day, i would suggest go to a place like sai service and get it fitted right away.

I m getting 23km p/kg mileage now
wagon R CNG company fitted.

Dear Amit

Its good to hear that you have been commenting upon CNG kits but friend your list for kits is not updated as many players have entered into the market like i recently got my car fitted from Maruti Dealer and with TES kit (sequential Injection) and after doing a lot of research online and even visited the company office in New Delhi and got quote convinced with there sequential system

Hey sumit if you are travelling 60-100kms do go for CNG and go for it fast as u start saving more and more

Punit surely you should go for sequential injection system. i got it done in my car and i would recommend everyone (whosoever has euro IV cars) to go for this system.

Mine was installed in front of me with minimum wire cutting (they did not tampered my cars wiring) no cuts, i liked TES system

Aalok thanks for sharing the point. I will put some time in research and update the list, it would be nice if you can share your research and we can update it here for general benefit of everyone

i have ritz,5 month old,i want to install cng kit, would u plz suggest me which one is good lambda(35000k) or sequential(55000k to75000) some says in k series engine lambda kit not perform well, only sequential kit give me proper result and one mechanic told me only autogaz(75000k) company's sequential kit is match with euro4. so amit which one is good for ritz k series engine and u r swift have k series engine

Hello Vishal,

I seriously feel that normal kit will be good for ritz, though sequential kits are better as compared to non sequential in any case but they are generally used in High end cars like Honda accord and all.

I suggest you go to Sai Service kind of authorized agency rather than a normal mechanic. i have seen cars fit at both places and there is a big difference in the fitting between someone like sai service and a road side mechanic.

Cng kits dependency on euro4 is something that i am not aware of and one that you should confirm with some professional fitters.

Hope it helps

I have a Fiat Palio converted on CNG with Tomasetto sequntial kit. Since I convert car on CNG, I am facing below given problems:
1. Engine gets switched off on low speed (1st gear)
2. On signal or in traffic I face this problem repeatedly

I have complained the same to vendor (Eco Drive, Kharghar & Fortune-Vashi), who just made settings 3-4 time & again the same story repeats.
Can you share your experience on this? Does it happen with all cars/Kits ?

Rajiv Nagare,
Panvel.

Hello Rajiv,

I have never faced this problem and i have two card on CNG one an Accent and other Swift dezire. I believe there is a tuning problem which your mechanic will have to fix infact i believe he is doing that , its just that your tuning gets spoiled every now and then. I dont think its a major issue but you need to certainly get it rectified as its dangerous that the car might stop anytime on slow speed and someone might bang it from behind.

Amit

I want to install an RTO approved cng kit in my Accord V6 2004 is there any RTO approved kit for this car in mumbai??? Pls guide me.

Hello , i want to put a cng kit on my indica- xeta1.2/2008 model. I have heard that the cng has a lot of problems with xeta. is tomasetto a good kit for xeta ? I hope closed loop kit instead of sequential will suffice the purpose ? i am getting it for 32k with rto is it good enough. what should i check while getting the conversion done?

tomasetto kits are good and you wont need a sequential kit for xeta. 32k is also a good price ask the dealer if it includes power booster and also safety valves as part of the kit.

regarding CNG having problems with xeta in particular , in that case i would not be the right person to comment,

Hey guys,

I want to fit a CNG in a Maruti Swift, I am considering a Lovato or a Longas kit.

The Lovato kit, I am planning to get the same fitted from an authroized dealer of Lovato, whereas Longas i would be getting it fitted from a person who does the fitting for authorised service centres such as Sai service or Vitesse.

What do you recommend? Also which of the above brands are better? And is there any safety related risk for fitting a CNG? Kindly advise?

Hey Kunal,

I have a maruti swift dezire, i would strongly recommend go to sai services and get it done they will be expensive than the market but really worth it. + only authorized service center are allowed to put safety valves in the car not other mechanics however good they might be. there are two kinds of safety valves one for the engine to stop in case of accident and one for the cylinder to stop releasing further gas in case of accident and one of these i dont remember whcih one but are only allowed to be put by the authorized dealers as it touches the core engine of the car.

Both kits are equally good. so it dosent matter

Hope this helps

Hi Amit I checked with Autovista and they are quoting 60k for the Longas kit. Donno if there is a increase in cost since you installed it. I guess it will be a good idea for me to check with sai service. How is the pickup with ac on for your car

Also could you clearify if you have installed a open loop or a sequential longas kit?

Thats expensive man. please check with sai service. the pick up definitely drops there is no doubt about that but the increase in mileage that you get will compensate for the same. its not a major drop anyway. but certainly not as same as petrol

I am currently getting 18 as my car's average

i havent installed sequential, they are ment for bigger and more powerful cars

I have an SX4 Zxi VVT – May 2010 model car. An authorized MASS/authorized CNG vendor is asking me to install sequential kit on the car – 65k is the price quoted. On the other hand, few other friends and known people + reading few forums on net suggests that we can go in for normal CNG + lambda + advancer to do the trick.
I am all confused – for the above model, which is a better kit ?

Dear Puneet,

My friend has installed normal lovato kit in his sx4 since last 4 months and the installation was done by sai service at 35000- 40000 rupees. its working perfectly fine.

Amit

What should I do?

@ KP Universal

Please testify if you guys are government approved vendors and sell RTO approved kits so that readers can be assured of your quality

@Dharmesh auto gas

Please testify if you guys are government approved vendors and sell RTO approved kits so that readers can be assured of your quality

Dhiraj,

If you get it installed at some garage then you will loose company warranty, its not a good thing to do since your car is only 1 year old. You should go to official service center or from where you bought the car they should be able to install the kit and also protect your warranty LIke i did from Sai Service mumbai. Also if this does not happen to be the case then you will have to take a call between saving money on fuel or save warranty for some future damage. I would still recommend save fuel as the amount saved eventually will be more than what the warranty covers.

Hey even I have a swift vxi with cng kit. And I am facing problems like there are some kind of bubbles type noise coming from the bonate in low gear. This noise was never before the installation of cng kit. Can u suggest me what measures can I take to overcome these bubble type noise coming in low gear?

Rohan,

tuning of your gas kit is not proper it has to be around 950 rpm thats why its not getting enough gas in low speed. get it checked and that should be fine

Mine is working really good. touch wood lot of people are having some trouble i guess it really maters from where you get it done

Amit

Hello amit. I have a swift vxi with open loop cng kit installed in Mumbai. And I want to convert is to closed loop cng kit. Due to acceleration missing problem in 2nd gear. And the dealer is asking for rupees 5000 for the conversion? Is it worth paying 5000 extra?
And do the Sai service people do gas setting of open loop cng kit in swift vxi?
Pls rep to all my queries.
Thnx in advance

I also have a swift vxi with open loop cng kit installed. But I suggest you go for closed loop cng kit for a swift as there are no problems in it. Mileage of swift on gas in city

Hi amit,

I want to install CNG kit in my Chevrolet Optra,
can u pls suggest me a suitable kit & dealer in mumbai for the same,
Thanks waiting for ur reply

Hi Amit,

I had very bad experience with Longas Fellow in Mumbai.

He said Sai Service dealer use him for fitting Longas system in Maruti cars and they are the sole distributors of Longas Kit. It is Chemotech Fabcon Andheri (East). So I am sure your car though fitted by Sai Service, was actually fitted by this fellow.

I done a deal with them for closed loop system for 27K. When I ask to show me the kit he brought different components from different places and then did put them in a box and showed me the Kit. Only Reduceris from Longas. Rest all components like emulator, TAP, HP pipe etc all are local made. When I asked about lamda control system he said he will show me later.

During installation I repeatedly ask to show me lamda control system, he said that he will put in the end. I left car there and came back in the evening. To my shock, they kept the car ready with only open loop (of which many components are local made and finish of fitting is of low quality). When I ask where is the closed loop system and lamda control? They said it is already there and showed me emulator and Timing Advancer…!!!!!!

I fired them and showed on my mobile what is lamda control system. They behavied ignorance and when I debated a lot. They said first I should get oxygen sensor checked and then only they can install…!!! that means they already knew what is lamda control and was just trying to make me fool….! When I said they should reduce the price by 5K which is the cost difference between open loop and closed loop…They say they can only do 1K discount in that. I asked what make of Lamda they use it must be local made….they had no answer…

I forced them to remove the kit….and back to home..
But the point is that….some or rather many or rather all fitters use many local made or faked component (using stikers of the company) in the Kit…

Amit, Just check what make of components are used in your Longas kit..

Hello Anil,

Thats a striking research and i am sure this will help a lot of people like us being taken for a ride because of our ignorance. If the place that you are talking about is in mahakali caves andheri east then its the one from which Sai Service gets the fitting done.

Even i reached these guys before fitting but then later on i decided that though Sai Service is charging 40 k as compared to 30 k that these guys charge who are doing installation for sai service vehicles i am still going to get it done by Sai Service. The result. They opened a sealed box in front of me before installation also they the same kit was installed using high tech equipments at SAi Service and not by hand. to me that itself makes a big difference.

And at the end of the day its Sai Service's guarantee. There was some noise in my CNG system after first two months, they replaced complete kit an yeah yet again i checked that its a new kit.

So though sai service uses kits imported by that guy and uses their workforce to fit it, but the fitting happens at Sai Service in front of their supervision and that makes the difference. Thats the main reason in all my comments and in the article i have been point out that please get it installed by a authorized service center

BUt thanks so much for bringing this to light, I guess you should complain in consumer court if you have time.

Hi,

I am planning to go for CNG but m bit confused on the Kits avaliable in the market.. Can you please help me out. I have i10 Era. 2007 manufactured. Some dealers in market suggested me to go for sequential CNG kit.

1)Can you please let me know , what difference will it make if i go for normal CNG kit instead of sequential CNG kit since the cost difference is Rs 20000?
2)Will i able to use AC if i convert to CNG? what will be the running cost difference?
3)which brand of CNG kit shld i go for?
4) can you also suggest me the best place to get CNG fitted in Thane/Mumbai?

Regards,
Krishna

I want to install CNG Kit in my WaganR Lxi BSIII model.
Please suggest me suitable kit and vendor in Pune.

i am sorry i would not know a good vendor in pune

Asnwers:
1) Sequential kits are better in terms of mileage and pick up as compared to closed loops
2) AC is no problems. i have been using it for 8 months or so and havent spent single rupee towards maintenance of CNG
3) i have installed Lovato, read the list in the article they are all RTO approved and all are same
4) I have got it fitted from Sai Service Andheri they are expensive then the rest by 7-8k

engine life remains to be seen, but i surely feel it will be lesser as compared to pure petrol car. The performance is good after installing CNG in city driving there is not much difference

Hi Amit,
I want to install CNG Kit in my Getz GLE 2 years old car. One dealer of LONGAS offered for 27k.
please give your opinion.

Kishor from Pune

Hi Amit, first of thanks for your valuable post,
Can you please help me out. I have MARUTI SWIFT VXI 2006 ,I am planning to go for CNG but m bit confused on the Kits available in the market like manufactured. Some dealers in market suggested me to go for sequential CNG kit.

1)Can you please let me know , what difference will it make if i go for normal CNG kit instead of sequential CNG kit since the cost difference is Rs 30000? like normal kit TA from ARG.is 30000 k and sequential is 60 k .

2) wud be the major running cost difference and performance ?

3)T.A from Argentina brand of CNG kit shld i go for?

4) can you also suggest me the best place to get CNG fitted in Delhi Ncr ?

thanks in advance .

regards
vijay

Hello Vijay,

For a swift the standard kit is not going to make any difference. Sequential kits are better but they are mainly used to higher power cars. Also your car is already 6 years old. If you double the cost of CNG you will take double the time to reap its benefits. I dont think you would want to spend 1 year just to break even the CNG cost.

I am sorry i would not know of any good place in delhi.

Hi Amit

thanks for best advice ,

as u written in first line that swift the standard kit is not going to make any difference that means Sequential kits not going make any difference?

2- i have one dealer is delhi is authorized agent of Maruti but its providing only BRC kit,
so BRC kit is fine or TA from Argentina .

3-ppl are saying the moment u fitted CNG kit ur car price will go down 50 k down ,ITS TRUE?

waiting eagerly for valuable advice.

thanks
vijay

1. yes i mean normal kits are ok

2. If he is authorized maruti service center then go ahead with any kits they install, just check if they are authorized by RTO in Delhi

3. lets assume even if it reduces the price by 50k. you will still save much more than that if you intend to use the car for couple of years.

4. I feel the value will increase with the rising fuel costs people would want to buy a second hand car which already comes with CNG

I want to fit a CNG in a Maruti ecco, I am considering a Lovato or a Longas kit.

thanks Amit for best advice .

Hi Amit,

I am from Pune and recently bought 3 year 10000 KM used Alto LXi. My monthly running is approx 750 KM. I want to convert it into CNG and asked same to CAR dealer who said they only do it for brand new cars (company fitted kit).

Please advise me if you know any dealer from Pune.

Thanks,

Ranjit

sequentials are better but generally used for bigger cars

Hello Ranjit,

I am really sorry i would not know of any good vendor in Pune i can only suggest you go to a authorized maruti services center and they will do it for you.

Maybe someone else can suggest here ? guys good dealers in Pune for CNG ??

i have found one bit i dont experience ,pls find it

Thanx Amit,

I hv INDIGO CS GLX (Petrol) 1.5 yr old. 6-Month warranty remaining. I am running 800Kms/Month with 11.5 kms avg in city. Now I am inquiring for CNG kit. No authorized TATA dealer is fitting any CNG kit in PUNE. I want to know, which is the suitable kit for my car? One road-side fitter guided me BRC-closed loop. He is offering it to me @ Rs. 31500/-. Is it OK? Is there any problem with this type of modification? Regards, — MAKARAND.

Please read Indigo CS eGLX at my post

Hi… I m planning to install CNG kit in my 10 month old Toyota Etios (petrol) but I understand there are no kits approved by Toyota for use in Etios. So if I install one, my car warranty will be null & void. Thats why I need to go to open market for buying CNG kit. Which type & make shall I go for?
Thanks in advance for yr time.

Could you throw some light on the closed loop versus open loop, and while we are at it… what exactly is closed loop in your opinion… advantages of closed loop.

as my authorized agent of BRC KIT saying he has only one kit that lamda, time advancer and gas reducer its closed or open kit?

once again eagerly waiting for valuable advice.

hey amit,

i got an TESMON argentina kit installed on my veicle (sequential) its an approved system as i myself visited there office and saw the certificates in original as i was quite doubtful earlier. i need to be satisfied before i spend that huge amount. though they directed me towards a fitment centre but they were quite helpful in answering my queries. i found them through internet research only but yes i am very much satisfied as i have driven the car almost for 60000 kms on CNG with this system and till date not regrets…

once again eagerly waiting for valuable advice.

i hava swift vxi ithought convert my car cng &lpg kit my car which kit is best my car iam in orissa which service station in orissa is best plese mail me

open&close kit

i am going to come up with a post that exactly explains the same in a day or two .. please stay tuned

i would not know anything about orrisa. but go for CNG and not LPG.

AJay,

Since your car is under warranty, i would really recommend that be very sure before installing the CNG kit. as things covered under company warranty are very very expensive. Having said that most card run very well untill the warranty period and lets assume a scenario that you run the car for 2 years before something major goes wrong. untill then you would have saved enough by using CNG instead of petrol.

All the kits mentioned in the article above are RTO approved and you can install anyone of them

Amit

Hi Amit,

I just visited few RTO authorised dealers around my place and following are the offerings:.

BRC closed loop for 30k (including RTO charges)

Prins closed loop for 30k (including RTO charges)

1) I havent heard abt Prins kit. Please advice in between both of mentioned.

2) Also let me know if something I have to ask for???

3) Please give me the hints how to verify everything is genine?

I am planning to convert on this Thursday.

Pls revert soon.

Ranjit

I would suggest for go BRC as i havent heard of Prins. what you should do to ensure everything is genuine is to get the guy to open the kit box in front of you so that you can inspect all part of the kits. most people who are fraud use the core part as original and use other stuff which are indian made. so when you see it unpack you will be able to ensure that all the parts are genuine.

Also ask for safety valves which will stop the low of gas in case of accident. along with power booster which will help solve the pick up issue when you turn to gas.

Thanks Amit for quick and detailed reply. I asked for safety valve and power booster and the dealer said its part of kit.
How to identify that power booster and safety valves are installed or not? he may refer this to something else.

Hi Amit,

Can you please suugest me which one would better in CGN or LPG kit? I know LPG is costly as compared to CNG but CNG is not readily availble in jaipur. I am wondering if performace of car will not be same in both the cases. I have Swift which is not giving very good average and run around 40K kms. Please reply

CNG is better but if you cannot get CNG in jaipur easily then no point going for CNG. You should go for LPG only thing is CNG is more safe, cheaper and dosent damage the engine if these newer imported kits from italy are installed.

Only if you can identify few places closer to your home or work from where u can regularly refill CNG then i would suggest go for CNG.

I am converted my i10 kappa petrol to CNG from Go Green System Faridabad with CNG injection system .This fitment center operated by Mr. Sunil Raj (Ex. Hyundai CNG division R&D Head) he have good experience in CNG injection System and his phone no. is 9871665777. I am happy with my car performance.

Hello Paresh,

I am glad the information has helped. and remember you are making this planet a better place to live as CNG does pollute the environment and since we are not using petrol / disel it also adds to overall saving in the economy.

Cheers

Amit Desai

plz suggest

Hi,

I have a hinda city 2005 model and i dont have budget for sequential , can you suggest me about the open loop CNG ? and how about Zavoil brand CNG is it better than Lovata ??

or let me know which brand is good for my car and what type.

You dont have to put sequential and i dont know about zaoil but in the article above i have mentioned RTO approved CNG kits

Andheri East which is on the highway. Contact person is 9594952257 his name is ramaji

if you can afford it sequential is best if not open loop also works perfect, just that it requires manual tuning at regular intervals say 6 months

thanks fro sharing your positive feedback with people here

Please suggest me a good CNG kit , to go with for my car.

Hello AmitSir,
i want to install CNG KIT IN MY HONDA ACCORD 2.4ltr 2008 model…OLD SHAPE
plz suggest
i wanna know whether it is applicable on honda accord…what r the effects on engine

Hello Pranav,

All what i have written in the article is applicable to Honda Accord. I would suggest you install a sequential kit as you have a bigger car.

There are no adverse effect on engine as these are imported kits and everyday if you drive 2 kms on petrol first nad then move to CNG and also after every 1000 kms on cng drive 10 kms on petrol it will never cause any problem to the engine.

Amit

Dear frenz

Warm regards.

Just a piece of information based on personal experience….I have 3.5 yrs old Accent Executive, I got it fitted with Lovato CNG kit from a RTO approved dealer one year back…The cost-saving aspect was infact good however there were mainly pickup problems..It gives me a mileage of 16-17 in city(with AC) and around 19-20 on Highways.
Even After regular tunings of engine, the pickup issues were not resolved, thats when my fitter suggested me the Lovato Power Booster…and My God, it works…Now such is the performance on CNG I have to check to make sure that it actually is running on CNG and not Petrol :p…My Friend has SX4, with company fitted CNG(sequential kit)..it works really well and he never faced any issue..ofcourse the price difference is there…his kit cost him 60k and mine 30k.

Hello Pankaj,

Thanks so much for sharing this post. It will surely help people who are willing to install CNG.

Pick surely drops but its ok lets make this planet pollution free.. ;-) and save loads of money for us

Amit

Hi Rohan
What about the maitenance. Do the maitenance cost increases. Regular tuning of engine is required?
I m planning to add CNG sequential kit to my petrol dezire? Daily running is 70 km for 20 days in a month. Should i go for CNG. Kindly advise

I havent seen maintenance cost increase in last 10 months. Regular tuning is required say once every 4 months if you are using the normal open loop kits.

i have a petrol dezire and i have installed it and loving it.
